Il Centro Aziendale

The upper floors of the Fattoria, located at the southeastern end of the village of Vico, contain the residence rooms of the patrician families who later owned it.
It is accessed from the village side, entering an eighteenth-century setting of staircases, frescoes and stuccoes that leads to the great hall and bedrooms.

A smaller room leads to the heart of the house, a tiny and prodigiously frescoed chapel. The work of an excellent 17th-century painter, Giovanni da san Giovanni, it is dedicated to the Madonna and episodes from her life, portrayed in six larger frescoes and others of smaller dimensions.

The west side of the house overlooks a ‘hortus conclusus’ that is, a walled garden within the village, and the large farmyard that looks toward San Gimignano.

The farmyard leads to the farm’s business center – offices, laboratory, tasting room – which is housed on the ground floor of the building, on the countryside side. This area of the house consists of rooms that have always been used for agricultural activity: cellars made of masonry or dug into the tufa, medieval granaries, warehouses and production rooms, such as oil room (the coppaia) or the old oil mill where the farmhouse dining room is located today.
